Becoming Future Ancestors is all about examining black American genealogy in a new way and re-envisioning the neighborhood as a family.
Back in March we gathered to discuss our family mythologies, possible anxiety about our unknown ancestry, and the nature of being a black American in this modern era. Together we will take the 23andMe ancestry test to see what we can uncover about our heritage. We also contributed to a neighborhood family tree, which shows how we're all connected.
Now join us for the Becoming Future Ancestors REVEAL AND RECEPTION.
Wednesday, May 29th from 7 to 9 pm, we’ll reveal our family tree and celebrate our collective bond as a community of color. There will be music, refreshments, and vendors.
Please, please, please RSVP. This event is FREE, but donations are welcome.
